This allocation is likely to have a visual impact upon the setting of Hartwell House. Whilst policy criterion (h) is supported as it requires a landscape-led approach to development, we consider that the impact on the setting of this Grade I listed building is not fully accounted for within policy wording contrary to national policy for heritage assets.
We therefore require criterion (v) to be amended to 'Protect the setting of Grade I listed Hartwell House, as well as the retention of a suitable setting for Grade II listed Hall End Farm house and Stoke Cottage'.
